The death cap is responsible for most fatal mushroom poisonings worldwide. It has a greenish-yellow cap, white gills, a ring on the stem, and a volva (cup) at the base. DEADLY - do not consume under any circumstances.

Ectomycorrhizal symbiont, originally from Europe but now invasive in California, Australia, and other regions where European trees were introduced.
