Safety Information
Critical guidance for safe interaction with wild fungi
⚠️Never consume wild mushrooms unless identified by an expert
Mushroom poisoning can be fatal. Many edible species have deadly look-alikes. When uncertain, do not consume.
Why Identification Is Dangerous
Many poisonous mushrooms closely resemble edible species. Even experienced foragers make mistakes. Some toxins have no antidote.
Poisoning Symptoms
Symptoms may appear hours or even days after consumption. Early symptoms often include nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Delayed symptoms (6-24 hours) can indicate more dangerous poisoning.
What To Do If Poisoning Suspected
- Call poison control or emergency services immediately
- Save any remaining mushroom material (for identification)
- Note the time of consumption and symptom onset
- Do not induce vomiting unless directed by medical professionals
