Course Overview & 20-Week Plan

20-Week Study Program

This app is designed to help Julie structure her studying to become a certified Instructor of STOTT Pilates Reformer and to gain a comprehensive understanding of the STOTT PILATES® Intensive Reformer course material.

Weeks 1–2: Familiarize with Manual and Five Basic Principles

Focus: Understanding the manual layout, core concepts, and a deep dive into the Five Basic Principles.

Weeks 3–4: Anatomy and Bony Landmarks

Focus: Key anatomical terms, bony landmarks relevant to Reformer exercises, and major muscle groups.

Weeks 5–8: Essential Reformer Repertoire

Focus: Detailed study of each Essential Reformer exercise - purpose, setup, movement, modifications, and principle application.

Weeks 9–12: Intermediate Reformer Repertoire

Focus: Building on Essential work with more complex Intermediate exercises, focusing on increased demands and flow.

Weeks 13–14: Teaching Methodologies and Program Design

Focus: Effective cueing, observation skills, class structuring, and designing programs for clients.

Weeks 15–18: Consolidate and Review

Focus: Comprehensive review of all material, identifying weak areas, and integrating knowledge.

Weeks 19–20: Final Exam Preparation

Focus: Mock exams, practical scenario rehearsals, time management, and building confidence for the final exams.
